The long awaited arrival of the 2017 Honda Civic hatch is finally over. After the success of the Honda Civic sedan, customers have been champing at the bit to see the latest addition to the range.
With a sportier stance, the Civic hatch is still in keeping with the distinctive contemporary styling of its sedan siblings.
Specifications and pricing for the 2017 Honda Civic hatch were released in March.
Honda Australia Director, Mr. Stephen Collins, said the arrival of the Honda Civic hatch represented a step change for Honda in the small car segment in Australia. “The development of the 10th generation Honda Civic was one of the most ambitious and comprehensive new model programs ever undertaken by Honda Motor Co. Ltd., with significant input from our local operation and dealer network” Mr. Collins, said.
“We knew when we launched the Honda Civic sedan that our customers were waiting for a complete rejuvenation of the Civic brand."
“With the arrival of the Honda Civic hatch, customers now have the choice of a sporty and dynamic hatch that is a perfect visual companion to the bold and successful Honda Civic sedan.”
Ensuring sporty performance is the choice of two engines; a 1.8-litre i-VTEC four-cylinder engine or 1.5-litre VTEC turbo engine. Both engines do the job, however, our preference is for the new turbo offering after experiencing it in the 2017 VTi-LX sedan.
Honda has equipped all variants with its continuously variable transmission (CVT), there are no manual transmission options.
