If value for money is something you’re after then the 2017 Honda HR-V might be the ticket. As with all model updates, the 2017 HR-V has more on offer than the predecessor, and in this case, no price hike.

Of notable mention is satellite navigation, now standard across the HR-V line-up. There is also an updated audio system to complement this which includes a 7.0-inch touchscreen display. As yet, the HR-V has not followed the all-new Civic by incorporating Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Engines and transmissions are carried over, all 2017 HR-V models are powered by a 1.8-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine, producing 105kW of power and 172Nm of torque, and paired with a continuously-variable transmission (CVT). The HR-V line-up remains front-wheel drive.

The Advance Driver Assist System (ADAS) which contains forward collision warning, lane departure warning and active high-beam assist are only available on the top-spec VTi-L.

Honda Australia Director, Mr. Stephen Collins said, “Not only has the HR-V been the top selling model in the Honda range for the past two years, but it is also one of the top selling small SUVs on the market, consistently ranking in the top three sellers in what continues to be an ultra-competitive segment”.

“But more importantly for the Honda Australia business, HR-V continues to strike a chord with private buyers, where it leads the Small SUV segment with almost 83 per cent of its total sales over the past 12 months coming from the private sector.”

Honda is striving to continue the HR-V’s popularity and have not raised the price despite the new inclusions. This is an excellent move and one that will no doubt appeal to many buyers.

The updated 2017 Honda HR-V will go on sale around Australia during May.
