Local specifications and pricing has been released for the 2017 Skoda Octavia.

The specification sheet has improved, with moderate increases in pricing.

For the 2017 Skoda Octavia line-up, the range has been simplified with Ambition and Style nameplates given the boot and replaced with Octavia for the base models and Sport for the mid-level models.

Octavia and Octavia Sport are powered by a 110kW turbocharged petrol engine. The flagship Octavia RS, comes with an upgraded 169kW turbocharged petrol engine, previously featured in the limited edition RS230, as well as the option of a 135kW diesel engine.

The entry level Octavia including seven airbags, a leather-wrapped sports steering wheel, rear centre armrest, an auto-dimming rear view mirror, height adjustable front seats with lumbar support, remote folding of the rear seats via the luggage compartment, dual-zone Climatronic air conditioning, an upgraded rear view camera system featuring multiple views, LED rear tail lights, voice control and an umbrella under the passenger front seat.

Stepping up to the Octavia Sport adds full LED headlamps, sports seats, the Passenger Protect Assist system, which brings an additional two airbags and the Light Assist system with rain sensor.

The exterior of the Octavia Sport is distinguished by 'Turini' 18-inch dark alloy wheels, a black rear spoiler on the sedan, mirror caps and black side door and tailgate foils. The Sport is also given a more aggressive look with lowered sports suspension.

The range-topping Octavia RS adds a 'Black Pack' which includes 18-inch 'Gemini' alloy wheels in black, and black body trim.

One the inside, the RS gets the all-new 9.2-inch infotainment screen, satellite navigation, Smartlink with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, USB, AUX, two SD card slots, and an eight-speaker sound system.

All Octavia models come standard with Front Assist featuring City Emergency Brake, fatigue detection, Multi Collision Brake, adaptive cruise control, alloy wheels, floor mats, a double-sided mat in the luggage compartment, a mobile phone holder and a waste bin in the driver's door.

The Octavia Scout model is not available at the time of launch, instead it will join the range later this year.

Skoda offer two optional packs for owners to further individualise their car, a Tech Pack and Luxury Pack. Both packs offer safety, style and convenience features.
