Audi Australia has announced the order books for the new Q5 3.0 TDI are now open with deliveries expected to begin in September 2018.
The current Q5 range launched in 2017 with the 2.0 TDI and TFSI four-cylinder engines, the 3.0 TDI will take its place at the business end of the line-up.
The new 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine boasts 210kW of power and 620Nm of torque, with the latter available from 1500rpm. It will be mated with an eight-speed tiptronic automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels via the quattro all-wheel drive system. A mechanical centre differential will use 40:60 front-to-rear torque split.
Safety is well taken care of in the Audi Q5 3.0 TDI, standard kit includes autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection, cross traffic assist, side blind spot warning system, parking system with rear-view camera, adaptive cruise control with stop & go turn assist and active lane assist.
Audi’s virtual cockpit will be a standard inclusion, as will Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
An additional 10 litres of luggage space is also found in the Q5 3.0 TDI with 1550 litres available when the second-row seats are folded.
Other standard inclusions come in the form of an electric tailgate with the options and genuine accessories list seemingly endless.
Audi claims the new Q5 3.0 TDI model offers over $6000 worth of additional features over the predecessor.
