Equipment levels and pricing have been announced for the 2018 BMW 3 Series range.

Kicking off the changes for the 2018 model year is a new metallic paint option, Sunset Orange, new alloy wheel designs and the iDrive6 infotainment system.

The range opens with the 318i that will set buyers back $57,300 plus on-roads. Pricing across the range has increased by $800 to $2000 depending on the variant.

The Sport Line package is a standard inclusion on the BMW 318i, 320i, 330i and 330e. For 2018, Sport Line will feature new 18-inch double-spoke wheels finished in Jet Black accents as a no-cost option.

Luxury Line will be a no cost option on the 330i and 330e models, while buyers of the range topping 340i will be able to choose between Luxury Line or M Sport packages. All models in the range can be optioned with these packages at an additional cost.

The 340i will be fitted with fixed-ratio power steering to bring it into sync with the rest of the range, BMW claim this decision was motivated by Australian customer feedback. The Variable Sports Steering that was previously a standard inclusion on the 340i will revert to the options list.

As with the updated 4 Series, the latest incarnation of BMW’s infotainment system, iDrive6 will be standard on all 3 Series models. The 318, 320i and 320d will get the Navigation System Business through a 6.5-inch display, while buyers at the pointy end of the range will see the Navigation System Professional on an 8.8-inch colour touchscreen.

There are also updated interior trim options, the highlight of which is Dakota leather in a new Cognac colour.

BMW will also offer its Innovations package across all models. The equipment the package brings depends on the model its attached to.

For the base model 318i, the Innovations pace brings Navigation System Professional, multi-function driver’s display and parking assistant. In the 320i and 320d, the pack goes a step further adding adaptive cruise with stop and go.

The updated 3 Series range is due to be in Australian showrooms in November.
