Following last week’s announcement of a new entry-level X1, BMW Australia has detailed the introduction of a new entry-level rear-wheel drive sDrive20i variant to join the 2018 BMW X3 range.
Sitting below the xDrive20d, the new sDrive20i lowers the entry price to the X3 range by $3000, now kicking off at $65,900 plus on-road costs.
The sDrive20i is the first new-generation X3 to be offered with rear-wheel drive.
Power will come via a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine capable of 135kW/290Nm and be mated with the same eight-speed automatic transmission from the xDrive20d.
Features and standard equipment levels mirror the xDrive20d with standard xLine, 19-inch alloy wheels, three-zone air conditioning, head-up display, business satellite navigation and the latest iDrive6 infotainment platform.
Driving Assistant is standard with approach control warning, lane departure warning and lane change warning. Parking Assistant is also included and brings a rear-view camera and park distance control.
For an extra $3,500 (including GST, not including LCT) the M Sport Package will also be available which brings a BMW Individual headliner in Anthracite, BMW Individual high-gloss Shadow Line exterior trims, Dynamic Damper Control, interior trim in Aluminium Rhombicle, with Pearl Chrome finishers, LED fog lights, M Aerodynamics Package, M Leather steering wheel, 19-inch BMW M light alloy wheels, steptronic transmission with gearshift paddles and ‘Vernasca’ cloth/leather upholstery.
