The latest awards to join the trophy cabinet of the Lexus LC500 coupe has come from the 2018 Australian Good Designs Awards for outstanding design and innovation.
In the Automotive and Transport category the flagship luxury coupe scooped up the inaugural Best Exterior Design Award whilst it also was also named a Gold Winner in the Product Design category.
Comments from judges included ‘stunning vehicle in every regard’ with particular attention given to the new exterior which was said to exhibit a design language that set it apart from the rest of the segment.
The Good Design Award jury's citation said, "The LC is design craftsmanship at its very best. This car has presence on the road like no other; it is one of the finest creations so far by Lexus and a window into what's to come from this design-driven brand."
The Good Design Awards are recognised by many as the highest honour for design innovation in Australia. For 60 years they have been recognising the latest and greatest designs in Australia and have become one of the longest-running and most prestigious design awards in the world.
Having been fortunate enough to drive both the LC500 and LC500h, we agree with the judges, it’s a beautiful car.
This latest award adds to the growing list of accolades the Lexus LC coupe is accumulating including the award for Production Car Design of the Year in 2016.
A showcase of Australian Good Design Awards winners can be seen during the Vivid Sydney festival from May 25th until May 27th at the Overseas Passenger Terminal, Circular Quay.
