Interior and exterior changes headline the upgrades for the new 2018 Infiniti QX80, the LandCruiser rival will remain priced from $110,900 before on-road costs.
On the outside, the new QX80 now sports an updated front end with redesigned headlights, front bumper, grille and bonnet.
In terms of the bonnet, it sits 20mm higher and is 90mm longer with the double-arch grille growing in height and width and the front bumper portraying a more angular appearance.
Infiniti’s signature front I-LED headlights, with LED ‘eyebrow’ DRLs now incorporates Light Guide Technology to evenly distribute the light. New LED fog lights with two LEDs on each side are integrated into the headlights and the indicators have been squared off.
Also redesigned and rearranged are the side air vents and front quarter panels with the side steps gaining 20mm for easier entry and egress.
At the back end, the tailgate, taillights, chrome bar and rear bumper have all been redesigned as well as the cargo door undergoing changes to better accommodate the integration of the thinner rear LED lights.
New 22-inch forged aluminium-alloy wheels featuring an 18-spoke design complete the exterior upgrades.
Seven exterior paint choices are available including new Champagne Quartz, Mineral Black and Moonstone White, with metallic paint colours still costing a $1,500 premium.
Inside the premium cabin is a range of contemporary leather accented features and upholstery complemented by wood grain inspired finishes. Updated is the upper instrument panel, door panels, centre and rear consoles as well as the rear entertainment screens. An Espresso Burl colour with semi-aniline quilted leather graphite coloured upholstery is used for the interior trim.
A new sporty leather accented shift knob is mirrored by the new seat and door trim quilting, stitching and piping for a refreshed appearance. This is enhanced with a contrasting coloured double-stitch design on the centre armrest as well as updated seating and headrest designs.
Bluetooth connectivity, Infiniti controller for navigation, audio and climate control are also included as is a long list of standard safety equipment such as Blind Spot Monitoring, Intelligent Parking System, Forward Emergency Braking and Lane Departure Warning. Intelligent Rear View Mirror technology is also included.
Powering the Infiniti QX80 is a 5.6-litre V8 engine producing 298kW of power and 560Nm of torque with Infiniti’s All-Mode 4WD system and a 7-speed automatic transmission with Adaptive Shift Control.
The Infiniti QX80 is also capable of towing 3,500kgs should the need arise.

The 2018 Infiniti QX80 is available to order now and is due to arrive in dealerships nationally from March 2018.
