Final specifications and pricing have been confirmed for the 2018 Jaguar F-TYPE range, the big news is the addition of a new four-cylinder entry model.
For 2018 the F-TYPE range will open with the aforementioned four-cylinder coupe with prices starting at $107,012 plus on-road costs.
The four-cylinder coupe and convertible will be powered by a new 2.0-litre 221kW/400Nm Ingenium turbo petrol engine - the most powerful four-cylinder engine ever offered in a production Jaguar.
Performance from the four-cylinder unit is strong, Jaguar claims it can accelerate from 0-100km/h in only 5.7 seconds and achieve a top speed of 249km/h. Remarkably, it’s only 0.4 seconds slower to 100 than the supercharged V6.
An eight-speed automatic sends power to the rear wheels. There is no manual transmission available with the new engine and the option of all-wheel drive remains the domain of the V6 and V8 engines.
The four-cylinder car is available in standard F-TYPE and R-Dynamic trim levels.
Standard equipment on the base car includes 18-inch alloy wheels, electric leather and suede sports seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel, climate control, keyless ignition and an 8-inch Navigation Pro infotainment system.
Moving up to the R-Dynamic trim level brings 19-inch alloys, LED headlights, and a switchable sports exhaust.
Safety tech has been bolstered for the new model year, autonomous emergency braking (AEB), lane departure warning, lane keep assist and a driver condition monitor are standard across the range.
