Jaguar has announced a range of updates for the 2018 Model Year XJ sedan.
There is a host of styling and equipment upgrades for the flagship Jaguar. The biggest news is the addition of a new XJR575 performance model that will sit at the pointy end of the range.
In Europe, the range will consist of five model grades, two wheelbases and a choice of diesel and supercharged petrol powerplants.
Kicking the range off will be a 3.0-litre V6 diesel developing 221kw and 700Nm.
Moving to the petrol options, buyers can opt for a 3.0-litre supercharged V6 that produces 250kW/450Nm. There are also two 5.0-litre V8 supercharged petrol units rated to output 375Kw/625Nm and 423Kw/700Nm respectively.
All engines in the 2018 XJ range are paired to an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission.
Plenty of additional equipment has found its way into the XJ, the latest Touch Pro infotainment system with a 10-inch screen is included, as is 4G wifi.
All models will feature autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist and a driver condition monitor.
The new XJR575 will serve as the performance flagship. It will utilise the 423kW 5.0-litre V8 supercharged petrol engine. Jaguar claims a 4.4 second sprint time from 0-100km/h and a top speed of 300km/h.
There is also a host of exterior and interior features to differentiate the XJ575 from other XJ variants. The exterior will include a rear spoiler, side sills, 20-inch alloys and twin bonnet vents.
Inside the cabin, the XJ575 will feature unique 575 branding on diamond-quilted leather seats, dash and treadplates.
