After the success of the sporty Australian Open edition Picanto in January, Kia has made the model a permanent fixture in the line up as the Picanto GT-Line.
Kia Chief Operating Officer Damien Meredith said, “The Picanto GT-Line is just one more endorsement of our belief that there is a desire from the market for a practical, stylish and affordable car at that end of the market.”
Similar to the AO edition, the Picanto GT-Line gets 16-inch alloy wheels, GT-Line badging, premium seats with red accents, alloy sports pedals, 6-speaker sound system, LED position lamps, LED daytime-running lights as well as the GT-Line trim package with contrasting body accents, dual exhaust tip and body kit as standard.
A limited selection of colours including Clear white, Aurora Black, Titanium Silver or Signal Red will be available, with the latter three attracting a $520 premium.
Available with a four-speed automatic transmission only, the GT-Line will use the same 1.25-litre four-cylinder petrol engine developing 62kW of power and 122Nm of torque from the Picanto S.
Armed with Kia’s standard seven year warranty unlimited kilometre warranty, with seven years roadside assist and capped-price servicing, the Kia Picanto GT-Line will be introduced with a drive away price of $17,490.
