Maserati has unveiled the 2018 GranTurismo coupe in New York.
The GranTurismo has been around for over a decade, it was originally launched way back in 2007. The Pininfarina-designed car is ageing well and still looks brilliant.
Maserati has streamlined the range and the two versions, the Sport and the MC will both be powered by a naturally aspirated 4.7-litre V8 engine build by Ferarri. It is mated to a six-speed ZF automatic transmission.
While the GranTurismo isn’t a performance car, the MC model is capable of accelerating from 0-100km/h is 4.7 seconds.
The GranTurismo’s exterior has been tweaked to include the new ‘sharknose’ hexagonal grille, which is inspired by the Alfieri Concept car.
Maserati has redesigned the centre console to include a double rotary dial, while the driving mode buttons have been repositioned.
Infotainment has been improved with a new 8.4-inch touch screen and Harman Kardon sound system. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is also available.
The 2018 Maserati GranTurismo will touch down locally early next year, we can expect full specifications and pricing closer to the official release.
