Local specifications and pricing have been confirmed for the 2018 Mazda 3 range, the upgraded sedan and hatch receive additional equipment and introductory drive-away pricing.
The new model year sees a stack of additional equipment added to Neo, Maxx and Touring grades. There has also been some changes to the naming structure with the Neo becoming the Neo Sport and the Maxx evolving into the Maxx Sport.
The newly named Neo Sport has undergone the greatest change, the entry variant now gets a 7.0-inch MZD Connect infotainment system, DAB+ digital radio, two additional speakers (taking the count to six) and a rear view camera.
Moving up a grade to the Maxx Sport, new equipment includes automatic rain sensing wipers, automatic on/off function for headlamps, dual-zone climate control and an electric park brake.
The mid-spec Touring model now has keyless entry as standard, while models at the pointy end of the range remain unchanged for the 2018 model year.
Managing Director of Mazda Australia, Vinesh Bhindi, said the update will add further value to what is already one of Australia’s most loved cars.
“The Mazda3 is one of our best performing cars; its unmatched combination of styling, handling and performance has helped establish its position as a go-to,” said Mr Bhindi.
“By improving and adding features as standard across the range, the Mazda3 becomes an even more appealing and desirable package for our customers.”
The 2018 Mazda 3 range is on sale now and kicks off at $21,490 drive-away for a Neo Sport manual.
