Pricing has been announced for the 2018 Mazda CX-8, the diesel seven-seater will have a starting price of $42,990 plus on-road costs.
Mazda will offer the CX-8 in three grades: Sport FWD, Sport AWD and the range-topping Asaki AWD.
All variants will be powered by Mazda’s 2.2-litre twin-turbo diesel engine which develops 140kW and 450Nm.
Only $1400 separates the CX-8 Sport FWD from the equivalent CX-9 ($43,890 plus on-roads), while the Asaki AWD comes in $3300 under the CX-9 Azami AWD.
Official specifications are still to be released, however, Mazda says buyers can expect a wide range of i-ACTIVSENSE safety technologies to be on the standard equipment list.
The 2018 CX-8 officially goes on sale in July.
