Updated specifications and pricing have been announced for the 2018 Mini 3 door, 5 door and convertible ranges. The updated Mini will feature more standard equipment, unique lighting signature as well as new colour and trim options.
For the 2018 model year, a newly designed Mini logo will feature on the new key fob, exterior, projection lighting and on the steering wheel.
Customers will also have the option of five new exterior paint colours - Solaris Orange, Emerald Grey, Starlight Blue, Melting Silver and Chili Red- which are available for the hatch and convertible models.
Luxury Lapis Blue or Rebel Green special paint will be available on the John Cooper Works variant as part of Mini Yours.
Three 17-inch light alloy wheel options - Roulette Spoke 2-tone, Rail Spoke 2-tone and Propeller Spoke 2 tone - have been added for Cooper and Cooper S variants.
Now fitted as standard on Cooper S and John Cooper Works (JCW) variants and optional on the Cooper is the newly-designed LED lighting system which is designed to increase the low and high beam range. LED DRLs and LED indicators have been integrated into the main headlight fitting. At the rear on the Cooper S and JCW variants are ‘Union Jack’ styled tail lights reflecting the Mini heritage.
Cooper variants will be fitted with Halogen front lighting with a black-edged surround and LED tail lights. An adaptive LED system is optional which features matrix high beam.
For 2018 an updated Mini Connected infotainment system will also be included which uses the 4G network and a touchscreen interface. The suite includes Real-Time Traffic Information as well as Remote Services, Connected Services and TeleServices.
Wireless Apple CarPlay is standard across the range making Mini the first brand in Australia to offer the tech as standard. There is a slight caveat, new Mini’s get a standard three-year subscription to Connected Services after which owners will need to pay for the service. Prices for this are yet to be revealed.
