The updated 2018 Renault Captur range has been released in Australia. Trim levels have been streamlined with the removal of one variant leaving only the ‘Zen’ and ‘Intens’ models.
Kicking off with the Zen model, which is available with a five-speed manual or six-speed Efficient Dual Clutch (EDC) automated gearbox, now features C-shaped signature LED daytime running lamps, rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera, Bluetooth connectivity and Media Navigation displayed on a 7-inch touchscreen.
Other highlights found on the Captur Zen comprise of electric adjustable auto folding door mirrors, two cup holders, an ivory interior trim for the centre console surround as well as two-tone 16-inch ‘Discover’ alloy wheels.
Stepping up to the Intens model, which is only available with the six-speed EDC, adds safety and technology features such as hands-free parking, blind-spot warning, extended grip control, a fixed panoramic sunroof, new dark charcoal leather upholstery and R-LINK enhanced Satellite Navigation System displayed on a 7-inch touchscreen. LED Pure Vision headlights with LED front fog lights, front and side parking sensors are also included and tail lights exhibiting the signature C-shape integrated into the optics for a 3D effect with three light guides complete the package.
An Arkamys 3D sound system with digital radio, AM/FM analogue radio, MP3, AUX and USB inputs are standard, though a BOSE premium sound system is available on the options list.
The Captur Intens is differentiated by front and rear skid-plate styling elements on the bumpers, chrome front grille and boot lid strips, privacy tinted rear windows and tailgate, and 17-inch two-tone 'Emotion' alloy wheels. The lower chrome door strip can also be substituted for a colour strip and matching alloy wheel centre caps.
To personalise the Renault Captur a selection of two-tone paint options known as Atacama Orange, Cappuccino Brown and Ocean Blue offset against a Diamond Black or Ivory White roof colour is available.
Interior ‘colour identity’ packs are also available at no extra cost which allows even more customisation. Ocean Blue, Flame Red or Atacama Orange will feature throughout the cabin on surfaces such as the air registers, speaker surrounds and centre console surround.
Engines are carried over, with the Zen manual featuring a 66kW/135Nm 900cc turbo petrol, while the EDC-equipped Zen and Intens models will have an 88kW/190Nm 1.2-litre turbo petrol unit under the bonnet.
Full-time driveaway pricing applies to the new Renault Captur line-up with the Captur Zen manual priced at $23,990. The Captur Zen EDC drives away at $26,990 and $30,990 will secure the Captur Intens EDC.
