The updated 2018 Skoda Octavia RS range has landed in Australia, with additional equipment and a $38,890 plus on-roads starting price, Skoda are anticipating the RS range will account for over half of all Octavia sales.
For the 2018 model year, the Octavia RS range will include six variants with two engine choices in either sedan or wagon body styles.
The 2018 Octavia range will now include a higher tune 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine from the Golf, rated at 169kW/350Nm and the familiar 135kW/380Nm 2.0-litre turbo-diesel.
A six-speed manual shifter or a six-speed DSG will send power to the front wheels.
Additional standard equipment now includes the Black Pack and a larger 9.2-inch infotainment system. Blind spot monitoring and adaptive chassis control are both available as options.
Skoda’s familiar tech and luxury option packages are also available.
The tech pack bundles keyless entry and start, automatic parking assistant, adaptive chassis control and a 10 speaker audio system.
Opting for the luxury pack adds Skoda’s lovely Alcantara seat trim with red contrast stitching, electrically-adjustable driver and passenger seats, driver’s seat memory function, lane assist, blind spot monitoring and an airbag count that reaches nine.
Skoda has confirmed the Octavia RS245 will arrive in November. The RS245 will get a 180kW/370Nm version of the 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine. Power is again sent to the front axle through either a six-speed manual or seven-speed wet clutch DSG. A limited slip differential will also feature on the RS245.
Pricing for the RS245 is yet to be confirmed.
