The Volkswagen Tiguan 162TSI Sportline has been added to the Australian line-up.

This new Tiguan 162TSI Sportline is available to order now with first deliveries due to begin in December, however, full details are yet to be released.

This new Tiguan variant will start from $45,990 (all prices before on-roads) and will slot underneath the Highline trim level (pictured) which starts at $48,490. Volkswagen claims the Highline is usually bought in fully optioned R-Line form for $56,490.

The 162TSI Sportline will utilise the 162kW/350Nm 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine from the Golf GTI. It will also feature 4MOTION all-wheel-drive and seven-speed DSG automatic transmission.

Standard kit on the Tiguan 162TSI Sportline will include adaptive chassis control, sport comfort seats finished in microfleece and cloth combination upholstery, and key driver assistance technologies such Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Side Assist and Traffic Jam Assist.

Interestingly, the Sportline will get 20-inch Kapstadt alloy wheels, the Highline comes with 18-inch Kingston alloys.

Obviously, the Tiguan 162TSI Sportline will be missing some of the standard equipment found on the Highline. We will confirm the complete specifications when they become available.
