Australian specifications and pricing have been confirmed for the 2019 Lexus UX range, the compact SUV will be arriving in showrooms later this month priced from $44,450 plus on-road costs.
UX200 models are powered by a 126kW 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, it’s mated to a CVT that sends power to the front wheels.
UX250h variants utilise a 2.0-litre petrol engine with a new hybrid system which is capable of a combined output of 131kW. It’s also hooked up to a CVT with either a front- or all-wheel drive. It’s worth noting only Sports Luxury and F Sport variants of the UX250h are available with all-wheel drive.
Lexus will offer the UX in the familiar Luxury, Sport Luxury and F Sport trim levels.
Luxury models are well equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels, acoustic windscreen glass, roof rails, LED headlamps, fog lights and tail lamps, power-adjustable heated mirrors, leather steering wheel and shift lever, power-adjustable steering column, auto-dimming rear-view mirror and eight-way power-adjustable heated front seats are all standard.
There’s also a 10.3-inch infotainment screen, satellite navigation, eight-speaker audio system, digital radio and an auto-adjusting GPS clock.
Moving to the Sport Luxury trim adds 18-inch wheels with run-flat tyres, adaptive high beam, leather seats with front ventilation, panoramic view monitor and a 13-speaker Mark Levinson audio system.
Range-topping F Sport models get unique bumpers, grille and 18-inch wheels on the outside while the cabin adds sports seats, steering wheel, shift lever and pedals.
This grade is also equipped with adaptive variable suspension, five drive modes, rear performance damper and active sound control.
Every UX variant features the Lexus Safety Sense + as standard. The package includes autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection, adaptive active cruise control, lane trace assist, traffic sign recognition, auto high beam, blind-spot monitor and rear cross-traffic alert.
Additional safety features include eight airbags, reversing camera, parking sensors, tyre inflation warning and a vehicle speed-limit warning.
UX200 variants will be available at Lexus dealerships from late this month while the UX250h variants are due to arrive in mid-January.
