The V8 powered 2019 Maserati Levante GTS has been revealed, it will join the range as a permanent fixture in the range and will come equipped with one of the most powerful engines ever fitted in a Maserati.

Essentially, the GTS will plug the gap between the Levante S and the Levante Trofeo

The Ferrari built 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 engine has been re-engineered to offer 404kW of power at 6,250rpm and 730Nm of torque, available from 2,500 ā€“ 5,000rpm. The GTS needs only 4.2 seconds to hit triple figures from a standstill maxing out at 292 km/h.

Like all Levante versions, the GTS is fitted with the eight-speed ZF automatic gearbox that sends drive to all four wheels.

The focus of the GTS version is sportiness, which Maserati have tried to reflect in the styling choices with a restyled lower front fascia and rear bumper.

Full Matrix LED headlights with an inbuilt camera are an option. Compared to the standard Bi-Xenon headlamps they offer up to 20 per cent better visibility and 32 per cent cooler light.

20-inch alloy wheels are standard with optional 21-inch or brand new 22-inch forged wheels available.

The Maserati Integrated Vehicle Control (IVC) system has been incorporated in the ESP control for the first time in the new GTS and Trofeo versions for better performance and improved safety.

Inside the GTS comes standard with premium upholstery (available in black red, tan and beige), heated seats and steering wheel, sports pedals and Harman Kardon Audio.

All 2019 Levante models (all 2019 Maseratis to be precise) get a new infotainment screen and redesigned gear selector. It uses a better shift pattern with a new ā€˜Pā€™ button on the top for parking mode.

Full Australian specifications and pricing for the 2019 Maserati Levante GTS should be available closer to the local launch date in the early part of 2019, alongside the rest of the Maserati range.
