Following the recent 508 sedan unveiling, Peugeot has revealed the all-new 508 Touring featuring a longer, lower and sportier body.
Passenger space and a large boot are touted as key features of the new 508 Touring with the latest generation Peugeot i-cockpit also included.
Dimensions of the new 508 Touring have changed when compared to the outgoing generation, it’s now 60mm lower (1420mm), while the overall length has been reduced by 50mm (4780mm).
External highlights are set to include frameless doors, full LED headlights and vertical LED DRLs, full LED rear lights and chrome twin exhaust tailpipes.
With the family buyer in mind, Peugeot has equipped the 508 with a 530-litre boot capacity and ‘Magic Flat’ rear bench seat which when folded flat offers 1780 litres of space.
Internally the Peugeot i-cockpit is the headline act, additional features include a compact leather steering wheel, satin chrome trim highlights, and a selection of material choices that are grade dependant.
Rear passenger comfort is taken care of with a tilting seat capable of a 27-degree recline and 40mm of extra headroom. A clear-glass panoramic sunroof is also available.
Safety kit includes new features such as a night vision system, adaptive cruise control with stop & go function, lane keeping assist, park assist, permanent adaptive rear light system, active safety brake system, active lane keeping assist, driver attention alert, automatic high beams, speed limit recognition and recommendation, extended traffic sign recognition and active blind spot monitoring.
Two new petrol engines based on the 1.6-litre 168kW PureTech unit and four diesel engines based on the 2.0-litre 132kW BlueHDi oiler are expected to be available. A new eight-speed transmission is also expected to complete the drivetrain with a plug-in hybrid option expected from the latter part of 2019.
The new Peugeot 508 Touring will officially be revealed at the 2018 Paris Motor Show.
