The covers have come off the 2019 Porsche Macan this week with the SUV getting refreshed styling and additional technology.
On the outside, the Macan has undergone some minor alterations at the front end, LED headlights are now standard and there are wider air intakes to give the car a wider appearance.
Down the back, the changes are more pronounced with a new three-dimensional LED light strip.
Porsche has expanded the colour palette by adding Miami Blue, Mamba Green Metallic, Dolomite Silver Metallic and Crayon. New 20- and 21-inch wheel designs are also available.
The cabin now gets an 10.9-inch infotainment touchscreen driven by the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) platform. Comfort has been improved with the addition of traffic jam assist, an ioniser and a heatable windscreen. The brilliant looking GT steering wheel from the 911 is optional.
The new traffic jam assist includes adaptive cruise control and offers partially automated acceleration and braking at speeds up to 60 km/h.
The dash and centre stack have been reworked to better resemble the layout of the new Cayenne, most noticeable are the re-designed and re-positioned air vents which now sit beneath the touchscreen.
Porsche states the chassis has been fine-tuned (whatever that means?) to improve ride comfort, while new tyres have been developed to increase the Macan’s performance characteristics.
There is no word yet on what engine options will be available, but it’s likely the 3.0-litre diesel won't be returning.
The updated Macan is scheduled to arrive in Australia in the first half of 2019. Local specifications and pricing will be announced closer to the launch date.
