Audi have launched their new compact Q2 SUV in Australia.
Initially, the Audi Q2 will be offered in two model lines: the 1.4 TFSI design and the 2.0 TDI quattro sport.
Efficiency is the calling card of the 1.4 TFSI engine, it features Cylinder-on-Demand technology that can shut down two cylinders depending on throttle loads. It develops 110kW/250Nm and claims consumption of 5.3 litres per 100km.
The 2.0 TDI is rated at 110kW/340Nm, with fuel economy of 5.0 litres per 100km. This engine is paired with Audi’s quattro all-wheel drive system.
Both models come equipped with the seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Both models look to be loaded with standard features, including Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), MMI Navigation, Bluetooth and smartphone interface, voice control and parking system plus with rearview camera.
There is also automatic air conditioning with dual-zone climate control, leather-appointed seats, an auto-dimming interior mirror, a contrasting C-pillar blade and alloy wheels.
If other offerings from Audi are anything to go by, there is likely to be and extensive and expensive options list.
Pleasingly, the Q2 has been awarded a five-star Euro NCAP rating. It will no doubt achieve the same from ANCAP.
With this latest Audi offering, the compact SUV segment is becoming a very crowded place.
Audi Q2 Pricing (excluding on-road costs)
Q2 design 1.4 TFSI S tronic 110kW $41,100
Q2 sport 2.0 TDI quattro S tronic 110kW $47,900
Let’s start a Car Conversation, does anybody have a Q2 on order? Is there any value equation here or in the entire premium compact SUV segment?
