After 40 years of 7 Series success, BMW Group Australia has announced the 7 Series 40 Jahre Edition will be available for a very select few.
So exclusive is the 40 Jahre Edition that only 200 units will be available worldwide with only 4 coming to Australia.
Of the allocation, a singular 750i, one M760Li xDrive and two 740i models have been earmarked for Australia.
BMW Group Australia CEO Marc Werner said: “The latest generation has been well-received by Australian media as well as consumers, its combination of innovative technologies, high specification levels and traditional BMW driving experience driving it to segment leadership in 2017.We cannot wait to see the 40 Jahre Edition in the metal towards the end of the year.”
The BMW 7 Series Jahre Editions, as expected, will feature some exclusive upgrades over the existing model. All will come with Frozen Silver metallic paint contrasted with bi-coloured 20-inch V-spoke light alloy wheels.
The interior sees comfort seats with signature full leather Merino upholstery. The ‘7 40 Jahre’ headrest stitching will stand out against the Smoke White and Black colour leather with the Alcantara headliner also in Smoke White.
The ‘7 40 Jahre’ signet will also feature on the piano black interior trim, door sill finishers and exterior B-pillar.

But the beast belongs to the M760Li xDrive which comes with a power-packed 6.6-litre V12 twin turbo-petrol monster engine capable of 448kW of power and 800Nm of torque.
The four lucky owners of the BMW 7 Series Jahre Editions better have deep pockets as the 740i will be available for $267,500 (all prices before on-roads), the 750i owner will pay $336,500, while $443,500 will be needed to take home the M760Li xDrive.
