Haval has lifted the covers from its all-new midsize H4 SUV ahead of the official launch at Auto China 2018.
The H4 takes its styling cues from the HR-02 concept from Auto China 2016, it appears that the production version hasn’t strayed too far from the concept’s design.
There’s a choice of two turbocharged petrol engines, a 1.3-litre and 1.5-litre, each mated with Haval’s new seven-speed dual clutch automatic transmission.
The 1.3-litre engine will develop 102kW and 225Nm whilst the larger 1.5-litre will be capable of 124kW and 285Nm.
Dimensions are generous as always with a Chinese vehicle with the new H4 measuring in at 4420mm long, 1845mm wide, 1695mm in height with a 2660mm wheelbase which slots it in nicely between the H2 and H6 models currently available in Australia.
Internal features of the new H4 include a 12-inch floating screen, LCD instrument panel and keyboard-style switchgear.
Safety equipment will include a 360-degree camera system, lane departure warning, lane change assist, tyre pressure monitoring and front and rear parking sensors.
Haval’s new Connected telematics system which provides smartphone mirroring, emergency rescue security monitoring and remote vehicle diagnostics will also be included.
Currently, the Haval H4 is only confirmed for the Chinese market which is a shame, it’s a sharp looking car that could only help to further the brand’s push into developed markets.
