Honda Australia has announced pricing for the all-new Honda Civic Type R which is due to arrive in October with over 5,000 pre-registrations already lodged.

Honda Australia Director, Mr. Stephen Collins said: “We’ve already taken more than 250 customer orders and more than 5,000 people have registered their interest. So it’s clear there’s a lot of pent-up customer demand for the return of the Civic Type R.”

The Honda Civic Type R will be available in only one specification. This will feature a 228 kW 2.0 VTEC Turbo engine, six-speed manual transmission with rev-matching function, adaptive dampers with three driving modes, Brembo brake package and 20-inch alloys on the exterior.

The interior will also feature Type R specification sports seats trimmed in suede-effect fabric accompanied by red accents throughout the cabin, as well as the usual assortment of technology such as the 7-inch colour TFT-LCD Driver Information Interface with shift light function, smart entry with push button start, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Honda LaneWatch and the Honda Sensing safety suite.

A variety of premium, metallic and pearlescent paint colours will be available including Rally Red, Crystal Black, Sonic Grey and Brilliant Sporty Blue for an additional cost of $575 if the Championship White is not the colour of choice.

As announced by Honda recently, the Civic Type R will also be included in the roll-out of the five-year unlimited kilometre warranty from July 1, 2017.

The all-new Honda Civic Type R will be available from $50,990 (excluding on-roads) and is due to arrive in October this year.
