If you needed any more reason to love it, the Jaguar F-PACE earlier this month received two honours at the 2017 World Car Awards.
The fastest selling Jaguar model ever has been awarded the prestigious titles of World Car of Year, beating the Audi Q5 and Volkswagen Tiguan, and World Car Design of the Year, over the Mercedes-Benz S-Class cabriolet and Toyota C-HR. The F-PACE is only the second vehicle to claim the double title in the history of the World Car Awards.
Jaguar Land Rover CEO, Dr Ralf Speth, said, "The F-PACE was designed and engineered as a performance SUV with exceptional dynamics, everyday usability and bold design. Winning this award endorses the talent and great work of our teams that have delivered the world’s most practical sports car and Jaguar's fastest-selling vehicle”.
With the judging panel consisting of influential motoring journalist, Mike Rutherford who is the Director and Vice-Chairman of the World Car Awards/World Car of the Year and part of the panel, said, "Jaguar has done the unthinkable by first securing the World Car Design of the Year award, then lifting the big one - the overall World Car of the Year trophy. With F-PACE, the British company and its proud and talented workers have taken on and beaten far bigger, wealthier European, Asian and North American rivals."
It’s not hard to see why the Jaguar F-PACE won though. With a variety of engine options across the F-PACE range from the efficient four-cylinder 2.0-litre Ingenium diesel, with CO2 emissions as low as 139g/km through to the high-performance 280kW, supercharged V6 petrol model that can accelerate from 0-100km/h in just 5.5 seconds, there is so much scope and ability to meet the needs of any potential owner.
Let’s start a Car Conversation, do you think the Jaguar F-PACE deserves the titles of World Car of Year and World Car Design of the Year?
