Mini has announced a limited-release run of Kensington Edition vehicles will be available to Australian customers.
Available in Cooper and Cooper S hatches, the Kensington Editions will sport Pure Burgundy metallic paintwork for the first time on the Mini hatch range.
In total 60 examples will be available in Australia with 15 of each of the four variants available (3- and 5-door Cooper and Cooper S variants).
Apart from the lustrous paint colour, other unique features will include an illuminated edition door sill (from the Mini Yours Customised programme) and specific ‘K’ badging on the side pillar.
The driver assistance package will include autonomous emergency braking, forward collision warning, high-beam assistant and speed sign recognition.
Both models will also include an Active Package which includes LED headlights with Union Jack tail lights and a Mini Excitement Package with white indicator lenses, automatic climate control and wireless phone charging (already standard on Cooper S).
Cooper models will feature Mini Navigation Plus with 8.8-inch touchscreen and Mini Find Mate tags, 16-inch black alloy wheels in ‘Victory spoke’ pattern, black roof and mirror caps, black JCW roof spoiler, panorama sunroof, a cloth and leather combination upholstery in Diamond Carbon Black, Mini yours leather steering wheel, Chrome Line interior surfaces and an anthracite interior headliner.
The Cooper model will be powered by a 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine offering 100kW/220Nm, it’s paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.
Cooper S adds 17-inch black alloy wheels in ‘Cosmos spoke’ pattern, Mini yours Lounge Leather upholstery in Carbon Black and have heated front seats.
The Cooper S variant will be powered by a 2.0-litre turbo petrol four-cylinder engine developing 141kW/280Nm, it’s also matched to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
For the first time, customers will also be able to order their Kensington Edition online at the Mini website. The process requires a $4000 deposit. The customers preferred dealership will then take over the sales process.
