BMW Group Australia has announced an allocation increase of the 2017 BMW M2 Coupe due to popular demand.

BMW Group Australia CEO, Marc Werner, said: “Demand for the BMW M2 has been strong from the outset.”

In 2016 BMW first increased their Australian allocation of M2’s from 300 units to 400 units. Based on the quick sales of the extra allotment first time around the Australian M2 allocation has been increased again.

The BMW M2 Coupe features a turbocharged 3.0-litre straight six-cylinder engine which puts down 272kW of power and 465Nm of torque or 500Nm when the over boost function kicks in.

Matched with the standard seven-speed M DCT dual-clutch transmission the M2 can hit the 100km/h mark from a standstill in 4.3 seconds or the no-cost optional six-speed manual gearbox will do the job in 4.5 seconds.

The BMW M2 also features performance focused Active M electronically-locking differential, specific wider-track M suspension, recalibrated Driving Experience Control with M Dynamic mode function and the M Compound braking system adapted from the M4 Coupe.

Demand must have cooled and BMW is looking to reinvigorate some interest to move this new allocation, BMW has advised the M2 is available for immediate delivery.
