Following the success of the Navara ST-X N-Sport variant in 2017, Nissan has announced two new limited edition variants, the ‘Silverline’ and ‘Black Edition’ based on the Navara dual cab 4X4 SL and ST respectively.
2017 saw a limited run of 500 special edition units sell out quickly so Nissan will up the ante with 900 units of the Black Edition and 900 units of the Silverline available from October 1.
Powering the new 2018 Navara special editions is the 2.3-litre twin-turbo diesel engine found in the wider range, it’s capable of developing 140kW of power and 450Nm of torque. It’s mated with either a six-speed manual or seven-speed automatic transmission with a selectable four-wheel drive system and an electronic rear differential lock. Each variant has a 3500kg braked towing capacity.
Both special editions will also feature a rear-view camera, automatic dimming rear-view mirror, privacy glass, LED headlights and daytime running lamps, Bluetooth and cruise control as standard.
On top of the ST spec-sheet, the Black Edition adds 18-inch black alloy wheels with dealer fitted all-terrain tyres, black sports bar, black wheel arch flares, black nudge bar, an LED light bar, soft tonneau cover, tub liner, black front grille, black mirror caps, black fog lamp surrounds, smoked bonnet protector, mobile phone holder and, of course, black body decals.
Each of the 900 available units comes with five exterior colour choices, Polar White, Brilliant Silver, Cosmic Black, Slate Grey and Burning Red, and is priced from $48,690 driveaway for private buyers.
Over the SL model, the Silverline gets 16-inch alloy wheels, polished alloy sports bar, mobile phone holder and ‘Silverline’ tailgate badging.
The Navara Silverline will be available in Polar White, Brilliant Silver, Cosmic Black and Burning Red, and is priced from $39,490 driveaway for private buyers.
Premium paint for both special editions attracts a $550 premium.
Both the 2018 Nissan Navara Silverline and Navara Black Edition will go on sale from October 1.
