The Porsche Mission E Cross Turismo has been revealed, Porsche claims the car is a concept study of an electrically driven Cross Utility Vehicle (CUV).

Aimed at individuals with an active lifestyle, the Mission E Cross Turismo features all-wheel drive capabilities for pursuing outdoor activities, a flexible interior to accommodate even the bulkiest of sporting equipment, as well as modern load-carrying systems which will cater for surfboards or a Porsche e-bike.

In terms of the battery, the 800-volt architecture uses a lithium-ion battery which can be charged for a range of up to 400km in roughly 15 minutes. The claimed driving range from a full charge is 480km.

Induction charging is also possible as is charging at a station or charging via the Porsche home energy storage system. Highlighting the electric element of the vehicle, during charging the ā€˜Eā€™ in the Porsche logo pulsates and the circuit board is brought to life by pulses of light.

The Mission E Cross Turismo utilises two permanent magnet synchronous motors (PSM), capable of 440kW of power, allowing the vehicle to accelerate to 100km/h from a standstill in 3.5 seconds.

Torque is automatically distributed to individual wheels via the on-demand all-wheel drive Porsche Torque Vectoring system.

Design features hint at the relationship to the iconic Porsche 911 with a low-cut bonnet and heavily curved wings. There are also features such as distinctive air curtains, matrix LED headlights, robust wheel arch protection and door sills, a front spoiler, large panoramic glass roof extending from the windscreen to the boot lid, increased ground clearance and 20-inch wheels wrapped in 275/40 R 20 tires.

Dimensionally, the Mission E Cross Turismo measures in at 4.95 meters long, 1.99 meters wide and 1.42 meters high.

Internally the Mission E Cross Turismo sports a two-section dashboard with an upper and lower section with a wing shape which houses an extra-wide display. A freestanding instrument cluster is angled towards the driver with digital content on TFT screens.

New connectivity solutions have been incorporated into the concept vehicle including driver display with eye-tracking control, a full-width passenger display, centre console touch panel and small multifunction touchscreens for functions such as controlling fan speed. Vehicle settings can also be customised using a tablet, smartphone or smartwatch.

In conjunction with Porsche Connect, the Mission E Cross Turismo also offers DestinationApp which brings a range of functions to help plan out trips. It even goes so far as to adapt the music, air conditioning settings and ambient lighting to suit the route taken.

What features actually make it into the full production vehicle remains to be seen, however, it seems more likely than not that the roads will soon be graced with the presence of the Mission E Cross Turismo in the not-too-distant future as Porsche invests heavily in EV technology.
