Electric car trendsetter Tesla has announced it has upgraded its warranty coverage for Australian customers, the Model S and Model X are now covered by an eight-year new car warranty along with eight years of roadside assistance.
Tesla previously offered a four-year/80,000km warranty on the entire vehicle with the battery and drive unit covered for 8 years with no cap on the number of kilometres.
The new warranty package covers the entire car for eight years or 160,000 kilometres, whichever comes first. The battery and drive units will continue to be covered for an eight-year period with no limit on kilometres travelled.
While eight years of warranty coverage is impressive, Kia continues to stump up the most comprehensive ownership credentials in Australis with its seven-year, unlimited kilometre package.
The change applies to all Teslas delivered after March 30, 2018.
