Volkswagen Australia has added a special edition to the Touareg range. Based on the 150TDI, the Touareg Monochrome gets additional equipment and cosmetic enhancements for $74,990 plus on-road costs.
The Monochrome is differentiated from other Touareg variants by unique exterior badging, black mirror caps, lower front grille and roof rails, dark tinted LED taillights and 19-inch 'Moab' alloy wheels.
Inside the cabin, there’s a two-tone black and Moonrock Grey Vienna leather trim, ventilated front seats, brushed aluminium and piano black dashboard inserts, black headliner, heated steering wheel with paddle shifters, electric tailgate and tinted rear windows.
Also above the standard 150TDI, the Touareg Monochrome gets keyless access and start, adaptive cruise control and front assist with city emergency braking.
To ensure buyers stick with the Monochrome theme, only three exterior paint options are available; Pure White, Canyon Grey and Deep Black.
Power comes from the same 3.0-litre 150kW/450Nm V6 turbo-diesel found in the 150TDI. It’s matched to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
