Australian specifications and pricing have been confirmed for the 2018 Jaguar E-PACE ahead of the small SUV’s scheduled April arrival.
The E-PACE will become Jaguar’s new entry model with a starting price of $47,750 before on-road costs.
In a range almost as extensive as the recently released Range Rover Velar, the E-PACE will be available in 38 variants. There are five engine choices (three diesel and two petrol), all paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.
The base E-PACE is equipped with cloth interior trim, a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, six-speaker audio, dual-zone climate control, LED headlights and taillights, rearview camera, 17-inch alloy wheels, autonomous emergency braking (AEB), front and rear parking sensors, lane keep assist and a driver condition monitor.
For a sportier flavour, the E-Pace R-Dynamic adds a body kit, R-Dynamic steering wheel with paddle shifters, mesh fabric sports seats, ebony headlining, metal pedals, front fog-lights, satin chrome side vents and a gloss black grille.
Engine options for the E-PACE and E-PACE R-Dynamic consist of the D150 110kW/380Nm 2.0-litre diesel, the D180 132kW/430Nm 2.0-litre diesel, or the P250 183kW/365Nm 2.0-litre petrol.
Stepping up to the E-PACE S brings, LED daytime running lights, 18-inch wheels, the Navigation Pro system, grained leather seats that are 10-way power-adjustable up front, and a Park Pack – that consists of surround parking sensors and rear cross-traffic alert.
The E-PACE S unlocks the higher tuned engines, the D240 177kW/500Nm 2.0-litre diesel and the P300 221kW/441Nm 2.0-litre petrol.
Moving to the E-PACE SE adds 19-inch alloys, a powered tailgate, a 380W Meridian sound system, 14-way electric front seats with memory function. There’s also a Drive Pack that features adaptive cruise control, high-speed AEB and blind-spot assist.
At the pointy end of the range sits the E-PACE HSE which gets 20-inch wheels, keyless entry, gesture control for the tailgate, Windsor leather trim, 18-way electric adjustment with memory function, and a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display.
The SE, HSE and HSE R-Dynamic have the choice of all five engine options.
The first model year will get the First Edition which is only offered with the D180 diesel engine or the P250 petrol engine. The First Edition comes loaded with kit. Highlights include 20-inch six-split-spoke alloy wheels, a fixed panoramic sunroof, configurable ambient interior lighting, the wearable Activity Key, head-up display (HUD) and ebony Windsor leather trim with Flame Red twin-needle contrast stitching.
The First Edition also gets the exclusive colour options of Caldera Red, Santorini Black or Yulong White.
If other Jaguar models are anything to go by, buyers can also expect an extensive options list.
