Local specs and pricing have been officially announced for the 2022 Kia Sportage range which has already started arriving in dealerships.
Kia will continue to offer the Sportage in S, SX, SX+ and GT-Line grades priced from $34,690 drive-away for the S manual.

The base car uses a 2.0-litre petrol four-cylinder engine with 115kW of power (+1kW) and 192Nm of torque. It’s matched with either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic and front-wheel drive.
Higher grades have the option of a 1.6-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol unit developing 132kW and 265Nm. It’s mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic and all-wheel drive are standard.
Diesel fans can opt for a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo engine producing 137kW (+1kW) and 416Nm (+16Nm). It’s hooked up to an eight-speed auto and all-wheel drive.
Powertrains aside, the exterior and interior are a long way removed from the outgoing model.
Safety has also been bolstered with AEB with pedestrian and cyclist detection, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane follow assist and a front-centre airbag included as standard across the range. Automatic variants also get adaptive cruise control.
The new Sportage is arriving in dealerships now.
