Haval has announced that building has commenced of their new factory which is being constructed in the heart of China’s automotive hub in Chongqing province.
The new factory is set to produce the new H9 and from 2020 it will be the production hub for the all-new pick-up which is currently being developed.
With one billion dollars invested in the project, Haval is expecting the new factory will only take 18 months to fully complete with new cars rolling off the line by late 2019. Initially, 250,000 units will comprise the production capacity of the new plant.
As with Haval’s Xushi factory in Baoding, the Yangchuan factory will use the latest state-of-the-art ABB robots as well as the latest technology in vehicle stamping, assembly and painting.
A spokesperson for Haval stated that Yangchuan was chosen over 20 potential sites due to its strategic transportation and logistical links. As the location is in China’s booming south-west region, Yangchuan features access to the Yangtze River and major rail links.
Haval is expecting to employ around 10,000 staff at the new factory. With the Chongqing province known as an automotive manufacturing hub, it is anticipated that many of the skilled automotive workers and suppliers needed will come from the area.
