BMW has announced a ‘Finale’ package will be available for the M140i hatch, it will be in dealerships from Q2 priced from $62,990 before on-road costs.
According to BMW, the M140i Finale Edition is a celebration of the final six-cylinder, rear-wheel drive 1 Series hot hatch. The next generation will switch to front- and all-wheel drive.
For an additional $3000 over the regular M140i, the Finale Edition gets special badging along with additional exterior and interior equipment.
Extra kit includes 18-inch M light alloy wheels finished in Orbit Grey, metallic paint, an electric glass sunroof, a black gloss grille, darkened headlights and taillights, black chrome exhaust tips, wireless smartphone charging and the Storage Compartment Package.
BMW is offering buyers two alternative alloy wheel designs finished in either Jet Black with silver highlights or purely in Jet Black.
The M140i Finale Edition uses the same 3.0-litre turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine from the standard car developing 250kW and 500Nm. Drive is sent to the rear wheels through either a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission. It’s good for a 0-100km/h sprint time of 4.6 seconds. These ingredients do make it the last of the breed.
With the eight-speed automatic transmission, fuel consumption on a combined run is rated at 7.1L/100km.
Other equipment highlights carried over from the M140i include M Sport brakes with blue callipers, adaptive M suspension, front and rear parking sensors, adaptive LED headlights with high-beam assist, keyless entry, harman/kardon audio system, Dakota leather upholstery and an 8.8-inch infotainment system with Navigation System Professional and BMW ConnectedDrive.
The BMW M140i Finale Edition will be in showrooms from March, with last production available from June.
