It has been confirmed that the 2019 Citroen C5 Aircross SUV will be coming to Australia following its global debut at the Paris motor show.

Using the Citroen Advanced Comfort program, the new generation SUV will be the marque's new flagship vehicle.

The C5 Aircross will come equipped with an all-new suspension system that uses progressive hydraulic cushions for better ride comfort.

Other claims-to-fame include three individual sliding, folding and inclining rear seats, all with ISOFIX points. There’s also a 580L boot which can increase to 720L by sliding the second-row pews forward. 230mm of ground clearance is also part of the deal.

Citroen is also claiming the new C5 Aircross will come equipped with up to 20 driver assistance systems. These include autonomous emergency braking and active blind spot monitoring.

A 12.3-inch TFT digital instrument cluster and an 8.0-inch touchscreen can also be found inside the C5 Aircross.

In global markets, Citroen will offer the car with a variety of petrol and diesel engines with outputs ranging from 97kW to 134kW depending on the variant. They will be matched with a new eight-speed automatic transmission.

Local specific specifications and pricing are still to be confirmed, expect an announcement closer to the official Australian launch next year.
