Ford Australia has confirmed the Focus Active will go on sale in 2019 priced from $29,990 plus on-road costs.
Sourced exclusively from Germany, the all-new Focus Active will be built on the clean-sheet C2 global platform which brings a new chassis and advanced driving technologies.
What makes the Focus Active is an additional 34mm of ground clearance. The aesthetic is enhanced by front and rear skid plates with inserts finished in contrasting silver as well as a bespoke front bumper with LED adaptive cornering fog lamps, LED daytime running lights and a honeycomb grille.
Other styling features include a black beltline, twin chrome tail-pipes and an Active-specific bumper.
A Design Pack is available which includes unique 18-inch alloy wheels, Adaptive LED headlights with auto high-beam control, as well as privacy glass.
Internally, the 2019 Focus Active gets a new wireless charging pad, dual-zone climate control, along with a Sync 3 powered 8.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and satellite navigation.
Focus Active models also feature unique embroidery on the seats, Active scuff plates and Nordic Blue contrast stitching on the seats, steering wheel, dashboard and doors.
Like the wider Focus range, the Active will come standard with autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane keep assist, lane departure warning and a rear-view camera.
Optional driver assist technology includes adaptive cruise control with stop & go, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert and active braking.
Power comes from a new-generation 1.5-litre EcoBoost engine which develops 134kW/240Nm and is mated with an eight-speed automatic as standard. The combined fuel consumption figure is listed at 6.4L/100km on a combined cycle when the stop/start feature is employed.
The 2019 Ford Focus Active will go on sale in Australia in 2019.
