Specifications and pricing for the new 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD LTZ model have been finalised by HSV taking the Silverado line-up to five heavy-duty truck variants.
Powering the 3500HD is a Duramax 6.6-litre turbo-diesel V8 engine which develops 335kW of power and a whopping 1234Nm of torque. This is mated with an Allison 1000 six-speed automatic transmission.
Adding to its heavy-weight credentials are four-wheel disc brakes, heavy-duty locking rear differential and the maximum payload capacity of 2.2 tonnes and 9-tonne towing capability.
Equipment highlights include front fog lamps, recovery hooks and 17-inch chrome alloys with dual rear wheels. Chrome is also found on the grille surround, bumpers, body side mouldings, door handles and exterior mirrors, there’s plenty of bling.
Cabin features include leather-appointed bucket seats with heating and ventilation, 10-way powered seats, driver’s seat memory, dual-zone climate control, remote start and heated leather-wrapped steering wheel with rake and reach adjustment.
Infotainment is taken care of with the Chevrolet MyLink audio system which includes an 8.0-inch full-colour touchscreen, 7-speaker BOSE sound system and the usual USB and AUX ports with Bluetooth as well. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are also included.
Safety kit included on the 3500HD LTZ includes the StabiliTrak stability control system which features proactive roll avoidance and traction control with electronic trailer sway control and hill start assist. Forward collision alert, lane departure warning, front and rear park assist as well as a rear-view camera are also included.
The re-manufacture of the Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD LTZ to right-hand-drive will take place at the new HSV production facility in Clayton South, Victoria, from this month.
