Isuzu has announced the D-Max X-Runner will return to the local range priced from $54,990 drive-away.

Based on the range-topping LS-T, the X-Runner is distinguished by unique branding across the bonnet, doors, rear quarter and tailgate. There’s also dark grey fog light surrounds, a satin-black-finish sports bar and red Isuzu logos on the grille and alloy wheels.

The interior has been dressed up with perforated red leather on body contact areas of the seats, a leather steering wheel and red stitched leatherette across the dashboard, glove box and console lid.

Carryover equipment from the LS-T includes a six-way electric driver’s seat, keyless entry and start, 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in tarmac-biased tyres, satellite navigation, tub liner, rear parking sensors, sidesteps and matte black roof rails.

Power comes from the same 3.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine found across the D-Max range, it develops 130kW and 430Nm. The X-Runner is equipped with a six-speed Aisin automatic transmission that sends drive to all four wheels.

Potential buyers should note the X-Runner is limited to 645 units which are finished in either Magnetic Red or Pearl White, the latter is exclusive to the limited edition.

The X-Runner is also backed by Isuzu’s beefed up six-year warranty, six years roadside assistance and seven-year capped-price servicing program.
