Specifications and pricing have been announced for the 2019 Maserati Levante range headlined by a new base model that lowers the price of Levante ownership to $125,000 plus on-road costs.
The new entry-level variant will be known simply as Levante and will get power from the familiar Ferrari-produced twin-turbo V6 petrol engine producing 275kW and 500Nm. Maserati claims it will sprint from 0-100km/h in 6.0 seconds on its way to a top speed of 251km/h.
An eight-speed automatic transmission sends power to all four wheels through the brand’s Q4 system that includes a rear limited-slip differential.
To ensure the new Levante screams like an Italian, a bi-modal exhaust is included as standard.
The base Levante rolls on 19-inch polished alloy wheels and includes a powered tailgate, blind spot monitor, rear-view camera, front and rear parking sensors, keyless entry, auto-dipping mirrors and dual-zone climate control ventilation.
Internally the Maserati Levante is leather-lined and hand stitched, from the seats to the steering wheel. The front seats are heated and boast 12-way electric operation with memory function.
The Maserati MTC+ infotainment system is standard and includes satellite navigation, digital radio Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
GranSport and GranLusso trim levels ($159,900 before on-roads) are also available for the Levante with the former adopting an athletic stance with restyled lower front fascia and rear bumper.
The wider Levante range receives some minor tweaks for 2019 including a redesigned gearshift lever with shorter travel for improved operation and new wheel designs, while full LED matrix headlights are now available as an option.
