Mazda has announced a minor update to the 2019 CX-8 headlined by the inclusion of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard.
Along with smartphone mirroring, the 2019 CX-8 gets G-Vectoring Control Plus (GVC Plus) that debuted on the CX-5 and tyre pressure monitoring.
Exterior changes are limited to a new LED license plate lamp and fresh wheel finishes on the Sport and Asaki grades.
Across the range, the layout of the climate control panel has been revised, while the range-topping Asaki now gets front seat ventilation, a 7.0-inch digital display housed in the instrument cluster, a frameless rear-view mirror and LED ambient lighting.
Available in either front- or all-wheel drive, the base model Sport comes with cloth seats, three-zone climate control, head-up display, 7.0-inch infotainment screen, satellite-navigation, DAB+ digital radio, automatic LED headlights and 17-inch alloy wheels.
Moving to the AWD Asaki adds 19-inch alloy wheels, LED daytime running lamps, LED fog-lamps, powered tailgate, nappa leather trim, electronically adjustable front seats with memory function for the driver, heated seats (front and outer second row), heated steering wheel, 10 speaker Bose audio system, 360-degree camera system and ‘real wood’ trim inserts on the dash.
Standard safety kit includes autonomous emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, high beam control, lane-keep assist, lane departure warning, radar cruise control with stop & go, rear cross traffic alert, traffic sign recognition and rear parking sensors.
All variants will be powered by Mazda’s 2.2-litre twin-turbo diesel engine which develops 140kW and 450Nm. It’s matched with a six-speed automatic transmission.
