Mercedes-Benz has confirmed the new B-Class will be offered in Australia exclusively in B180 Sports Tourer trim priced from $46,400 plus on-road costs.
 
In B180 Sports Tourer guise, power comes from a 1.3-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine making 100kW of power and 200Nm of torque. Drive goes to the front wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. On the combined cycle, fuel consumption is listed at 5.7L/100km.
 
The wheelbase has been stretched to 2729mm to provide a greater level of comfort and depending on the configuration, the B-Class offers luggage capacity of between 455 and 705 litres behind the rear seats. With the rear seat folded flat, the luggage compartment can accommodate up to 1540 litres.
 
Standard equipment includes the dual-screen MBUX infotainment system with DAB+ digital radio and navigation, a nine-speaker audio system, faux leather trim, climate control air conditioning, a new sports steering wheel and 17-inch alloy wheels.
 
Autonomous emergency braking, active parking assist, lane keep assist, active brake assist, blind spot monitoring, front and rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera and traffic sign recognition are all standard.
