The all-new 2019 MG 3 has touched down in Australia with an automatic transmission, priced from $15,990 drive-away.
The MG 3 will be offered in two trim levels: Core and Excite. Both variants will be powered by a 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine that produces 82kW of power and 150Nm of torque. It’s the same unit that powers the base model ZS SUV. It’s paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. The fuel consumption figure on the combined cycle comes in at 6.7L/100km.
For 2019 the MG 3 will take on a sportier aesthetic with chrome grille finishes, sweeping lines and London Eye daytime running lights (DRLs).
The sporty feels are carried through to the cabin with the use of a leather sports steering wheel, satin chrome finishes and a carbon-look centre console. A tartan trim with contrast stitching can also be found.
Apple CarPlay is available (but not Android Auto) which is viewed on an 8.0-inch touchscreen. Yamaha 3D sound field technology is also standard with four speakers for the Core and six speakers for the Excite.
The Excite variant ($17,990 drive-away) also gets electronic air conditioning, vanity mirrors, map pocket, body coloured door mirrors, rear spolier and 16-inch two-tone alloy wheels.
Safety features include rear sensors and a reversing camera standard across the range as well as emergency brake assist.
The all-new 2019 MG 3 is available now with a seven-year unlimited kilometre warranty and seven-years roadside assistance from $15,990 drive away.
