Nissan has announced specifications and pricing for the 2019 Juke Nismo RS which will sit at the top of the recently updated Juke range.
The Juke Nismo RS is the third Nismo model to be sold in Australia joining the GT-R Nismo and 370Z Nismo sports cars.
Power comes from a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces 160kW of power and 280Nm of torque for the front wheel drive 6-speed manual option, and 157kW of power and 250Nm of torque for the all-wheel drive CVT alternative – all higher than the standard Ti-S variant.
For a sportier drive, the suspension and steering have been upgraded. Engineers have recalibrated the spring rates, damping force and electric power steering (EPS) resulting in a lower and stiffer car.
Differentiating the Nismo RS variant from the wider Juke range is bespoke front and rear bumpers, body kit, roof spoiler, upgraded exhaust system, rear diffuser, 10-spoke alloy wheels along with signature red mirror caps and detail line.
On the inside, the Juke Nismo RS gets suede sports seats with red stitching, a leather and Alcantara trimmed steering wheel with a red centre mark and a leather gear selector. There’s also Nismo branded kick plates, mats and tachometer.
Other cabin highlights include push-button start, satellite navigation, digital radio, black roof liner, a carbon-look finish on the head unit and gear shift surrounds.
In terms of safety, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, 360-degree camera system with moving object detection, two ISOFIX points and the obligatory suite of airbags are all standard. Unfortunately, autonomous emergency braking isn’t available even as an option.
Only 240 examples of the Juke Nismo RS will be available nationally with prices starting at $37,790 plus on-road costs.
2019 Nissan Juke Nismo RS pricing (excludes on-road costs):
Juke Nismo RS 6MT - $37,790
Juke Nismo RS CVT - $41,490
