A range of driver assistance and safety features have been added to the 2019 Toyota LandCruiser VX and GXL grades.
The LandCruiser VX model will now come equipped with a blind-spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, a four-camera multi-terrain monitor and auto-dimming interior and exterior mirrors. Previously only the Sahara grade saw these inclusions.
These new features join dusk-sensing auto-levelling bi-LED headlamps, LED front fog lamps and daytime running lamps, leather trim, 18-inch alloy wheels, rain-sensing wipers, sunroof, black side steps and woodgrain-look interior highlights.
For the volume selling GXL grade front and rear parking sensors, leather steering wheel and a new instrument cluster (long overdue!) that incorporates a 4.2-inch colour multi-information display are now standard.
These upgrades join 17-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone climate control air conditioning, a rear cooler, rear spoiler, aluminium side steps, two 12-volt connectors, a 220-volt rear connector, keyless entry and start, reversing camera, satellite navigation, roof rails and a leather gear selector.
The additional equipment does come with a moderate price increase, the LandCruiser range now opens at $78,190 (all prices before on-road costs added) for the GX turbo-diesel five-seater.
The new GXL with a 227kW/439Nm 4.6-litre petrol V8 is priced from $84,480 with the 200kW/650Nm 4.5-litre turbo-diesel V8 priced from $89,580.
Both engines are also available for the VX and Sahara models priced from $94,890 and $115,230 respectively for petrol power and $99,990 and $120,330 for the turbo-diesel V8.
