The 2019 Volkswagen Caddy Beach campervan has officially gone on sale in Australia priced from $46,990 drive-away.
Assimilated from the long-wheel-based Caddy Maxi Trendline, the Caddy Beach measures in at 4870mm long, 1800mm high and 1800mm in width.
Exterior highlights include bi-xenon headlamps with LED daytime driving lights, 17-inch Canyon alloy wheels and a beach decal.
Seven colours are available – basic Candy White as well as no-cost optional metallic hues of Reflex Silver, Fortana Red, Indium Grey, Viper Green and Sandstorm Yellow – which contrast nicely against the darker elements such as the black roof rails, tinted rear tail-lamps and tinted passenger windows.
Included as standard is a fold-out bed, a 2.3m x 2.0m walk-through tent at the tailgate, two folding camp chairs and table, folding tray tables for rear seat passengers, block-out window curtains, a rechargeable torch and four storage bags for the rear side windows.
There are also optional accessories to complement a variety of lifestyles including roof rail, bicycle carrier, roof box, surfboard carrier, tow bar, front window weather shields as well as rubber floor mats.
The Caddy Beach offers versatility with five folding seats with a 3-seater bench in the second row that is removable.
There is also a colour multifunction display, Composition Media infotainment system with App-Connect with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink compatibility, six-speakers throughout the cabin, rear parking sensors and rear-view camera, driver fatigue detection, rain-sensing wipers, auto dimming mirror, lumbar support for front seats with backrest release and titanium black cloth seat upholstery.
Also standard on the safety front is autonomous braking (front assist and city emergency brake), adaptive cruise control, lane assist and fog lights with cornering functionality.
Power is provided via a 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine with start-stop which develops 92kW of power and 220Nm of torque and is mated with a seven-speed DSG.
