Local specs and pricing have been announced for the 2020 Audi A5 range which is already arriving in dealerships.

 

Audi will continue to offer the A5 in Sportback, Coupe and Cabriolet body styles with prices starting at $71,900 plus on-road costs.

 

Each body style is available with 40 TFSI and 45 TFSI powertrains, the former is front-wheel drive, while the latter gets the quattro all-wheel drive system.

 

A5 40 TFSI variants use a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine with a 12V mild-hybrid system to deliver 140kW and 320Nm. A seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission sends drive to the front axle.

 

Audi says the 0-100km/h dash takes 7.3 seconds in the Coupe, 7.5 seconds in the Sportback and 7.9 in the Cabriolet.

 

The 45 TSFI models also feature a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine with a 12V mild-hybrid system, however, it’s tuned to deliver 183kW of power and 370Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.

  

The extra power cuts the 0-100km/h times to 5.8, 6.0 and 6.5 seconds for the Coupe, Sportback and Cabriolet, respectively.

 

Every A5 model comes standard with 19-inch alloy wheels, Matrix LED headlights, keyless entry and start, leather upholstery, front sports seats with electric adjustment, tri-zone climate control, wireless phone charging, a 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen, satellite navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, DAB+ digital radio, a 10-speaker sound system, Audi’s virtual cockpit, and a 360-degree camera.

 

Standard safety equipment includes adaptive cruise control with stop & go, active lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, driver attention assist, autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection, exit warning, collision avoidance assist, and rain-sensing wipers.

 

Cabriolet models also get neck warmers for the front seats, heated front seats, and seatbelt-mounted microphones for clearer phone calls with the roof down.

 

Speaking of the roof, it can open in 15 seconds and close in 18 seconds at speeds up to 50km/h.
