Audi Australia has announced the SQ5 TDI will return to local showrooms in November as a Special Edition priced from $104,900 before on-road costs.
When it arrives, the diesel-powered SQ5 TDI Special Edition will sell alongside the SQ5 TFSI petrol model.
Power comes from a 3.0-litre turbo-diesel V6 supported by a 48-volt mild-hybrid system to produce 255kW and 700Nm. It’s paired with an eight-speed tiptronic transmission that sends power to the quattro permanent all-wheel drive system.
The self-locking centre differential can direct 40 per cent of the torque to the front axle and 60 per cent to the rear in normal driving conditions, with up to 85 per cent directed to the rear wheels if the road conditions require it.
Audi claims the SQ5 TDI can sprint from 0 to 100km/h in 5.1 seconds while sipping 6.8L/100km on the combined cycle.
Equipment highlights include adaptive suspension with damper control, matrix LED headlights and animated indicators, 21-inch alloy wheels, red brake callipers, a powered tailgate, privacy glass, and a panoramic sunroof.
Keyless entry and start, a 19-speaker Bang & Olufsen premium sound system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless smartphone charging, a head-up display, Audi’s virtual cockpit, ambient lighting, three-zone climate control and Nappa leather trim are also included.
Standard safety features include autonomous emergency braking (AEB) with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control with traffic jam assist, active lane assist, rear cross-traffic assist, park assist, parking sensors and a 360-degree camera.
The 2020 Audi SQ5 TDI Special Edition is available to order now with deliveries expected from November.
